Adeline doesn’t hear the comment the boy makes by the time she’s moved off a little, nose to the ground. Her tail waves idly back and forth as she tries to find something nearby without moving too far from the den Dawn is sleeping. Grayday may not have left her in “charge” of the children, but she is the oldest. So, by default? She doesn’t think much of it after a moment or two when she finds something. It’s faint and it’s likely a day or two old—a rabbit that probably got too close the den and reconsidered—but a trail all the same. She picks her head up to search for the boy, barking to draw attention to herself for him to come near.
