When Peregrine reached his daughter, he regarded her stiffly, his body language letting her know that she wasn't off the hook. When she licked at his chin, he softened somewhat. Although her query grated on his nerves (why had she insisted on following him all this way only to complain that she wanted to go home?!), he only sighed impatiently and nudged the top of her soft head.
"Yes, we're going home," he answered her. "Start walkin', inmate," he then drawled. "Let's see what your mother says when she finds out what you did." Peregrine lapsed into silence, letting young Tytonidae mull that over as the two of them trekked homeward.
