She clasped the remnants of his meal in her jaws--which would justify her showing up on Morningside territory if they didn't believe her word. She doubted that would happen, but it also gave her a sense of purpose.

She didn't mind showing up on their land alone, in fact she preferred it that way. It would give his pack a little bit of time to size her up without the pressure of a leader. She sniffed the air once, finding Grayday's scent most concentrated to the northeast.

With a final dip of her head, she briskly loped towards the river, dissolving in the dusk light as a shadow.
