The deer start running before they engage and Thuringwethil barely has time to acknowledge the straggle that has come out of seemingly nowhere. Why had the stranger not seen them? Why hadn’t they noticed the stranger? Her jaws tighten in frustration as her feet leave a thunderous roar on the ground in pursuit of the chosen deer. As long as she and Dio got to it first, they won’t have anything to worry about, but the threat of another hangs in the back of her mind.

Thuringwethil closes the distance between herself and the chosen kill but from the corner of her eyes she sees the familiar form of a loner she’d met a few weeks ago. She’d been going inland the last she’d spoken to her but why is she so close to her home? A growl rumbles in her throat and she turns her head for half a second and barks for Shalon to give up the kill she’s after and come with them over the bigger, meatier meal they have planned. Heda does not look back to see if she follows and refocuses on the task at hand, driving the deer closer to Dio.
