Nikai had always thought Keoni'd met these wolves before she had gotten hurt, but it turned out that they didn't even know her name. They must be special, considering they'd taken her in and treated her wounds when she was just another stranger to them. Nikai reminded himself he should always be good to these wolves, for they deserved it. He considered correcting Keenie to Keoni and opened his mouth to do so, but then Rannoch went on to tell him of the pack and he decided to just let it slide for now. It didn't really matter, anyway, Nikai thought when he looked at the happy expression on Keoni's face.

"Thanks a lot for taking care of Keoni when she was hurt. We were sure lucky that you are so kind, even though she was a stranger at the time," Nikai said with a soft smile. "We're from Easthollow, we live in our mother's pack there." He gestured to the east briefly while he spoke. "Keenie was really looking forward to returning here. I decided to come, even though I didn't know where she'd bring me." Nikai wondered what the wolves thought they were doing here.
