potema clings to him, and hisses at vaati that he ( kjalarr ) won't be leaving with them. it reminds kjalarr — who has become so brazen in his liberties — that his opinions do not matter. he's potema's captive. he chose this. and it would seem his eagerness to be glib with arrille so quick to point the finger and quick to assume that arrille would be just like vaati has earned him caiaphas's ire. he would not respond to vaati's words of betrayal because it's not as if he's ever truly conscribed to being apart of blackfeather woods the first time. he had not given ( still hasn't ) them his all: has not forsaken his religion, beliefs, culture for the adoption of theirs ...and he's never sold them out, never placed the pack in any position to be in danger. their opinions on the matter of betrayal were very different, but so is many things between father and son.
