At least, she hoped that she would be unprepared.

Without warning, she turned, teeth bared and eyes flashing with a bubbling growl to face Anatha. She lunged effortlessly for the girl's throat, albeit with no malintent; this was a practice drill, and if they were going to work out their teacher-student relationship, drills like this would be vital.
