Unruffled by the pup's loud, crass manner, Ragnar humored her. The pup stared at him raptly as he explained about Berserkers and Shield Maidens. Although she inwardly balked at the dichotomy, she already found herself yearning to be one of these ironclad maidens. And when Ragnar promised he would make some time for Warrior training, her entire body wiggled and waggled back and forth, her glee apparent.

She was so distracted by his promise to teach her some "Warrior stuff," she scarcely acknowledged his query. "My mama's name is Hotguy!" she yelled distractedly, then made her impatience known as she sprang at him, rearing up so that her forepaws balanced on his legs and her tail beat the air. "I wanna be a Warrior! A Shield Maiden! Show me, show me, show me!"
