Yet he continued in his duties and hunted. He hunted for the pack,not himself. He hadn't eaten since Pema had told him. He had gone out and snagged a single pheasant, stupid enough to have returned to the nest that he and Easy had disturbed. He carried it in his jaws on his way to Catori and his father's den, hoping to drop off the meal and nothing else. His depression was obvious from the glazed look in his eye and the way his tail and ears drooped.
