It was unusual for him, but ever since he'd met with Screech, Gannet had been avoiding @Hydra. He had a lot of complicated feelings about what happened, but the root of it was anger and frustration, and he hated it. He just couldn't shake it.

He hadn't been lying before when he said he understood why they did what they did. Even when they'd broken his leg, he hadn't been angry... because it had been here. Their land, their place, and he could have been threatening it.

But Screech hadn't been here. He'd been avoiding this place, as was right, and no threat to the Ostregas at all. Why would they attack him? And how could Hydra, when Gannet had told her he thought his brother innocent? Couldn't she just let him be? If it were her sisters, he would have. Maybe her version of friendship was different.

Rattled by this newfound negativity and his own doubts, he followed the paths down to the base of the peak, knowing most of the pack tended towards the top. He didn't mind running into anyone particularly, but it was easier to think when it was quiet.
