Wapun Meadow endure and survive

Rainier was not kept waiting.

The wolf who approached was larger than he was, standing a few inches taller at the shoulder, and her green eyes reflected a keen curiosity at his presence here. What he found lacking, however, was the aggression and pointed attitude of a dominant wolf. Perhaps he had been misinformed by Regulus' constant posturing and grumbling whenever the Basin packs met for their monthly meeting; the old wolf always found fault in his parent's commitment to peace which never sat well with his father.

He was drawn in by what he could only describe as warmth, and returned the friendly sound with one of his own, accompanied by a wag of his bushy tail. His ears twisted forward as he processed the words, the name tangling on his tongue. "Ookaan? What does it mean?" Only after a beat did he remember his manners, and submit himself accordingly before the leader. "S-sorry. I'm Aqu-er, Rainier."
