He didn't know what he had gotten himself into. This place was really weird and the wolves here seemed to — somehow — be weirder.
If teeth hadn't been a clear message to Outlander before, they sure weren't now. His tail lashed behind him but he had no time to do much more than that. He wanted to protect himself but all he managed to do was a half turn. There was a very good chance teeth were going to meet his shoulder or side as they were now exposed to the defensive stranger.
He knew he needed to get going now but he also knew he needed to find a safe way down. Which likely meant he'd escape with a few injuries due to slowness while trying to get back to the path.
