maybe a naturalist thread?
silkie pushes his boundaries further than he has ever before. previously, he was pretty content to stay within hougeda's immediate radius. it was where he predominately played, ate, slept ( napped ) and hunted but it was irrevocably not enough. his curiosity of the world outside of his small bubble was becoming rather acute and though he considered making his trip worthwhile by hunting he changes his mind last minute as he tracks a fox's scent trail through the spanning redwood forest. he nears the borders with a growing prickle of excitement at the nape of his neck. there's something that's so tempting about what's forbidden to him. the moon's a half crescent in the sky and he glimpses over a pale shoulder as he inches nearer to the borders only to be intercepted by @Eske who moves to stand like an immovable and ferocious roadblock. the wanlida lets out a low growl of disapproval and levels a stare at him that causes the dragonling to shrink in on himself. "the borders are not safe. go back to hougeda, goufa." she commands him and ushers him back.
silkie obeys with a soft huff, more annoyed that she used his title as opposed to his name — because he had one of those. a name, that is. and it wasn't goufa. when she is no longer trailing him he skirts around hougeda and heads, instead, towards the cliffs. he can hear the gentle roar of the ocean and when he shrugs past the receding treeline the sea and sky stretches out before him. silkie takes in the unobscured night sky with quiet and unbridled amazement.
