As he expected, each time she gave an inch he was there to close the gap and that left her with little course for action. After enduring a few of her snaps he went for a grab of his own, and nipped at the flesh of her neck. He was careful to pinch but not break the skin; and he'd hastily reposition after every nip, being more of an annoyance than a danger.

He let her go after a few grabs, and even gave her a few feet of room to move around. It wasn't fun if she couldn't at least try to fight back - that was the point of a spar. He made a show of it though. Ambrose backed off with prancing steps and his tail raised high, keenly aware of her position and waiting for her to try something.
