dalia strayed from the claims that ford had made, but not with the intention to leave for good. she simply was stretching her legs, and when the blackened trees and underbrush began to thin, she was in a green pasture. she continued on through it, simply for the beauty of it and because she had nothing to do. dalia kicked at a stone as she came across it, observing it curiously for a moment before deciding it was not precious, and she would not bring it to ford.
