Haunted Wood the devil took him to a very high mountain

It was strange how quickly she took to her new companion.

Mute though she was, Kai was expressive in her gratitude - gifting small mice and birds to the titan as her wounds allowed. It was not much but it alleviated some sense of uselessness to offer sustenance. Perhaps it was not so odd that the wolfdog remained Cry's constant, albeit silent, shadow. Starved for contact and kinship, she readily accepted her new role - whatever it might be. 

The witch roved at his side, wandering paws sometimes leading her away to investigate a peculiar scent or intriguing trail. She returned without fail, silently as she left, falling into step beside Cry wherever she found him. None of her investigations turned up anything to eat; most of the trails went dead on account of the recent deluge of rain. 

At last, a scent drew Kai's curiosity and she returned Cry's look with an excited twist of her lips - slipping away into the damp underbrush to track it, the witch paused upon reaching the carcass where it lay nestled amongst the dying leaves. Her head cocked curiously at the bird, the onyx avian bringing to mind Cry's atramentous coat, as she prowled closer. 

Tula's interest appeared piqued by the unfamiliar bird; the fisher peered around her companion's locs, beady eyes flitting between the larger bird and the scraps. 

Kai's lips peeled back slightly as she approached, intending to drag the carcass back to Cry, unafraid. It was the way of wild things; she was bigger and she had more teeth. It was natural for the bird to concede - for how could it defend its meal against the carnivore - and it was with confidence that Kai reached for it.
