The pale child stared at the taller wolf for a moment. She nodded as the questioning came of what the pale spirit had said. Spirits? Yes. Upon the question, the child grinned toothily and rather than answering the question with a yes or no took to answering the question behind the actual question: "We are from the Night Mother." The pale child knew she was not just a child. She was with one paw in the spirit world and one paw in the here and now, talking to this wolf. All these spirits present now were only further proof of this. She stared at their dancing, feeling a kinship and a belonging when she was here.
