Elwood's expression sobered at Finley's comment. Maybe he had bitten off more than he could chew -- from her description, it sounded like they were wallowing in sadness and for good reason. His gaze shifted to Raven as she chipped in with a quick quip that caused the corners of his lips to twitch ever so slightly.

"I've got my work cut out for me," he commented, tapping his tail thoughtfully against the ground. "Well, let's see if I can help you out," he said, and then commenced with the most ridiculous story he could think of -- which would hopefully bring a smile to their faces, even for just a moment.
