"Curtuk," she replied, butchering the girl's name. They hadn't spent any time together, so she hadn't yet learned the name in full. With one final, uncertain flicker of her ears, she inclined her head to Takiyok and said, "You may call for her. She is here."

She would not call the girl herself. This was partially because she did not know the girl's call-sound well enough to summon her with accuracy, and partially because she wanted to see if Currituck would come to Takiyok's voice. If she would not, it did not bode well for the stranger.
