Constantine had kept a close eye on Kavik and his wolves while giving them their space to grieve the loss of their home and the time to settle to their new one. From what he understood, they were missing some of their comrades, and Kavik was even missing his mate—a pain that Constantine could feel with the loss of his own son. Viinturuth had been found—but the injuries he had inflicted on his mother ensured the pale boy had become a stranger to his father.
Studying the thoughtful form of his newfound pack mate, it was with a sense of purpose that the proud Mayfair strode to the beasts side, his own stocky form settling next to Kavik’s in amicable companionship and silence. His own fiery eyes remained fixated upon the rushing waters, trying his hardest to find the peace within the creek, when his broken soul cried for the scent of the ocean.
“Kavik,” he finally offered, his tone gentle, a rumbling baritone. “You’re settling well?”
