Gone was the home she had left, miles behind her last footsteps still visible in the snow. Her physical home that is, but in her mind there was no home without the burly figure she so loyally followed. They were a menacing duo, both large and intimidating. She might be strong but there was no strength akin to that of the one she felt standing by his side. They were most powerful together, at least to her. That is why she trailed after him like a duckling with full confidence of this next step.

Now they found themselves in a forest that she felt was rather cozy. It had a welcoming mien that other places she'd encountered lacked. One that said: you can stay the night here, you'll be safe. The maple trees spoke with friendliness and it wasn't often that mother nature lied. She had learned from a young age to trust the earth and her signs, and this was a good one.

The she-wolf chuffed to catch her companion's attention. "Frændi, this seems a good place to rest." Her gaze lifted to the boulder of a wolf, she admired for a brief moment his golden eye. Her chest began to kindle with warmth and in a panic, she switched her attention to her own silvery paws, hoping to suppress any emotion beyond that of platonic.
