What was it now - a half a year - and no one had claimed Bearclaw valley, which was to Nunataq's liking and preferrence. For a creature to whom affection was a rare feeling, the connection she felt to this place was remarkable. And no wonder she considered it to be hers, even if she did not live here permanently anymore.
When time permitted and she was not involved in other adventures and today was such a day, the mute girl returned to the place of her birth, her home and went through all of the metaphorical rooms and corridors, removed cobwebs and dust from the windows, pulled out long-forgotten boxes of toys and books, which had began to rot and waste away, and listened to the strange echoes of the wind and her own footsteps.
At times it was lonely, but more often she found the silence peaceful. The valley was her safe place. So, you can easily imagine her annoyance and mild anger, when the quiet music and the blissful feeling of calm and one-ness was disturbed by another person. She picked up the noise first, smell second and, when she noticed the person himself, she wasted no time to bound towards him and stop him in his tracks.
She pinned the fellow with her gaze, growled and did not appear the least bit friendly. He was an intruder and would be treated as such.
