When they separated he was beyond tired, but his body hummed with a heightened sensitivity. Firefly slouched to the dirt, panting and soaked, and let the feeling engulf him. When he rose again his limbs felt soft; he could barely keep to his feet, which was good for the stranger as she recovered quickly and once clean, vanished from his side. Firefly would have gone again and again, pining for so many bodies — but the woman"s steps echoed back to him. A few moments later he began to stroll westward with the scent of their mingling bodies heavy upon him.
