His limbs became peppered with sand as he trotted toward where the summons had come from. As he approached, he narrowed his eyes on the figure who waited. The dark stranger seemed to have lived through some difficult times. Ford was no stranger to hardship, but he had never seen a wolf so malnourished. There was a hesitancy in his approach, but only for a moment. All of them were capable of moving beyond their limits, he reminded himself.

“How might I help you?” the warhound inquired in a smoky voice. His eyes were calculating as he looked on the other male. Surely, this wolf would seek a place within their ranks. If he was left on his own for much longer, he would likely wither away.
