Shadewood I am nothing.

the evening seemed to stretch on for forever before the sun finally shed the last of its light and disappeared beyond the distant mountain. most of the day had brought rain to them, and so the young deku had remained inside the family den to avoid getting messy. when the sound of crickets could be heard from the mouth of the dark hole, he could hardly help the excitement that flooded through his veins. on careful steps, the two-toned figure slipped from the mouth of the den and into the damp wood. his eyes searched the heavens first – as was customary for the young boy – before he found a place beneath one of his favorite trees.
 
the chill on the air was enough to give him goosebumps, but deku was not bothered by this. he sat almost regally with his head held high and his eyes scanning the skies above for signs of the stars. he had hoped that the clouds would clear away somewhat so that he could gaze upon the glistening little lights overhead.
