Shadowwyn Moor Everything must go

From his hiding place -- which wasn't really much of a hiding place at all -- Breccan watched as Nuna located the origin of the sound and headed in his direction. All around him, the real frogs continued their sporadic chorus, and he was certain that she would have no trouble finding him, since he hadn't sounded anything like the actual amphibians. But she was moving at an indifferent pace, and he began to second guess himself; had she heard him in the first place?

Suddenly, though, when she was only a few feet away, her demeanor changed. Unexpectedly, she lunged towards the reeds where Breccan hid, and he found himself face to face with her as she broke through the tall grass. He gave a yelp of surprise but recovered quickly; gathering his haunches beneath him, he raced away from her, paws sinking into the muck as he grappled for purchase.

Without speaking a word, he invited her to chase him. His tail flagged over his haunches and he threw a glance back over his shoulder, open-mouthed and grinning as the frogs croaked their protest.
