Yildun wondered aloud whether Mo would be proud of Koontz's accomplishment. The silvery yearling smirked. "I'm sure she would be," she acknowledged, "though, like you, I was always closer to my dad. We were just a lot more alike than my mom and me." She became quiet for a moment. "I'm happy with the life I have here and I know they'd love to know that I'm out here, conquering the world and all," she quipped lightly, "but I really miss them sometimes. I knew when I left that I would likely never see them again. I don't like to think about that, though," she admitted, knowing Yildun would more likely than not empathize.

"Oh, shoot," Koontz said suddenly. "I'm over here yip-yapping when you're trying to listen for prey. I'm zipping my lips right now," the Alpha said, pressing them together as promised and allowing silence to overtake the pair of them.
