Finding Scimitar wasn't hard after all, pacing a wolf-shaped path near the borders. Kas smiled softly as he looked up to find her, and she nudged him gently as she reached him. She was infinitely glad she had found him here and had joined this pack with him, even after all the uproar in Blacktail Deer Plateau. She had made a mess of that, and so far her vow to keep out of trouble here was holding steady.

"You look troubled," she observed, noting the slight furrow of his brow and the limpness of his ears. These were signs she knew from childhood, signs that he had probably worked hard to hide from others. Kaskara fell into step beside him, encouraging him to continue his patrol. Instead of stopping, she would simply join him. There was no need to stop his work just to talk.
