Then she gazed without blinking as he turned and licked at his back. When he turned to her again, she looked away, pretending she had never been looking at him at all. It was a cat thing.

Bored and feeling sleepy, she rolled onto her back and looked at the wolf upside-down, giving him a small, "Mew," and blinking at him. She reached for him with a paw, trying to place it on his nose, but he was much too far away, so she gave up and let her front leg go limp. His kindness reminded her of Adair, whom she missed, and she wondered if she'd ever see the brute again...[/size]
