Luli, while fast approaching her second month of her lifetime, was slow to come out of her shell. Born too early alongside siblings who practically dwarfed her and having faced a rocky start, it seemed the koi was destined to remain in the background. Too timid, too quiet, too weak, she could never compete with her brother and sisters for the limelight.

For all her flaws, however, the tiniest seadragon knew that she was loved. She was especially close with her mother and adored her most regular babysitter but she wasn't entirely sure where she stood among her siblings. Xiaoqing was the softest, perhaps (the safest option when it came to choosing companionship) but Haoming was fierce and sharp. She was the scariest by far.

Nüwu was the mystery. The dappled youngster observed her sister with silent curiosity, an eagerness to see what it was she played with but too fearful to approach.
