A week had passed since his near-death experience, followed by a near-murder at the hands of a kid. He'd never liked kids, and hadn't believed that it'd been possible to like them less...But now he knew better, and had decided to avoid that patchwork, piece-of-work, homicidal brat and all others like him, and spent the week avoiding all others so that his muzzle could heal. He still could not breathe through his nose, and the wound on the roof of his mouth from one of Mahler's lower canines was taking its sweet time to heal too (if only he could stop tonguing at it) but in the very least, the puncture wounds on the bridge of his muzzle had begun to close up, though the bones would never be straightened.
He noted with annoyance, as the swelling subsided, that even if he crossed his eyes and stared straight down his muzzle that he couldn't see his nosetip anymore. Due to the bend in his muzzle, he could reach well above his nose with his tongue, which was amusing if nothing else, and his already pronounced upper canines now traced new lines through the fur of his chin. He'd taken a glance at his reflection in a puddle, and saw just how ridiculous he looked- but there was no escaping it. He'd be deformed now, for life; and there were puddles everywhere so there was no avoiding the shame.
It seemed he wasn't the only one who'd had his face disfigured, though. He was lightly startled by the fact that he'd wandered so close to another packmate without really noticing them until he heard the soft splashing of water that wasn't simply from the rain. "Woah, dude," He said, grimacing lightly in spite of his own pain, bristling as he sniffed at the air as though looking for some sign of sickness that accompanied the male's wounds. "Simmik wasn't kidding; there really are some sick bastards roaming around here." He said, noting with a squint that under the blood-covered fur was an eye that likely could not recover from the injuries he'd sustained. "You want me to, uh, call you a medic or something?" He asked, still maintaining a distance in case the injured wolf saw fit to drive him off.
