"Fret not brother, our kin make a fair argument."
Corliss spoke softly to her brother from behind, placing a reassuring paw upon his shoulder in hopes to quell his anger. She'd been listening in from a distance now, a bit late to the meeting but present nonetheless, yet her steps only came to a halt far away when Célnes began speaking. A proposal to reform Kingslend into the new era — a plan that the femora would no doubt go along with — and search for blessed land to reconstruct their now fallen sanctuary. Except this time, things would go differently then she'd expect it to be...
Her usual fox-like smile made it's way onto her features, yet her breath faltered in a shot of adrenaline waiting to scream. Behind Corliss' calm and collected smile masked a red, seething rage.
The dame knew her cousins were going to come up with a plan that would aid them in moving forward, but this, well, this was just an unimaginable level of treachery towards the high elk. Welcoming outsiders to travel with us for the sake of numbers — even acting freindly towards them, treating them as one of us — Corliss would rather be gutted by a rabid grizzly. And these...these — heathens. These infidelious bastards that were clearly cursed upon exiting the womb! The only reason those two wished to follow members of Kingslend and threaten the relationship her family had towards the high elk was so that they didn't die off in a ditch somewhere without a pack to leech off of. Pathetic.Mewling.Infidels.
But then again, her cousin had made a good point.
If they were to survive in uncharted lands with the wavering numbers of Kingslend that they did have, there wouldn't be any other choice but to win over the trust of anyone that wished to provide help; despite how repulsive this idea sounded in her head. Besides, the only one that truly had any say in who recived the same rights as them was the creator himself. And if they did fail the initiation, then Corliss would be more than happy to see them out herself. "This idea of allowing foreigners into our ranks is difficult to take in at first, I know, but we will not survive in these foreign lands for too long with the absence of outside interference. Allow them to stay and, if they prove themselves worthy during spring initiation, we will have nothing to worry about." If they are even able to that is, because Corliss doubts these newcomers should even be trusted...
