Had Scimitar known the amount of male attention he was receiving in terms of attraction these days, it likely would have silenced him even more to a state of almost uncomfortable acceptance. Perhaps then he could have had more insight to Bazi’s so called ‘plight’ with Danica – though whether or not he would be so up in arms over the matter would remain a mystery for now.. much like his oblivion for such things.

As blue eyes swept over him, the agouti male did not relax – the other spoke in a language he did not understand, and Scimitar felt his pelt bristle slightly. The mistake was realized – but it had already placed the Beta on edge. After all, he had asked the question in English, and the other had begun to respond in English. Perhaps, had it been under any circumstances other than trying to make a first impression, the Beta would have been more impressed. Now, however, he wasn’t.. especially when the other made the request to join a pack without even a hint of submission to a wolf who indeed lived here. Swiftcurrent Creek had enough ‘problem members’ in the past.. he wasn’t about to let another one slip through the cracks if he could help it.

“Do you prefer Cadfael, or Ddraig?” he questioned first – his attempt at remaining friendly as his judgment continued. The names were strange upon his tongue, and they were not spoken with the same fluidity and grace the other had just used. “And for the usual spiel, why should Swiftcurrent Creek welcome you in to its home? What are your strengths?” There was a pause as his eyes gleamed, calculating over the darker male. “And what are your weaknesses?”
