He fell into step with Atlas once again, trailing just a step or two behind him as his elder brother led the way. His steps were light, almost bouncing against the earth with an eagerness that embodied his every fiber. He was eager, in fact, to find if his assessments were correct, to venture further than he normally did now and in the future, too.
After this, he was certain he would try and hunt down Keres and pester her. Well, maybe tomorrow—if they caught this rabbit then he knew he wanted to go parading it around first instead. Rub it in Mira’s face for sure, maybe taunt Caelum with it… though he’d probably try and share it with Mintaka instead of aggravating her.
As they reached a certain point, the bounce in his step shifted over to that of what would be a hunter’s momentum. His body lowered closer to the ground as his nose worked furiously, trying to pick up the trail that he had abandoned in favor of brief thought. He found it, though it may have been unnecessary; he had been following Atlas all along, after all.
His gaze searched the side of his brother’s face as he slipped closer to him—was he right?
