Silence settled between them as they traveled until the trees thinned to rocks. Amongst the scent of the storm, the salt of the sea could now be detected, something not too foreign to the shadowy wolf. Akai slipped amongst the jagged walls that carved inwards. Small tunnels and caves were plentiful, something she chose to keep in mind should she slip away later. However, for now, she gave in, sliding into the small shelter to rest her now aching body.

Originally, Kali had planned to ignore the other presence and get some rest, though she couldn't help but keep an ear attentive as he placed the hare down...and spoke to it? What a weirdo. With the hare left discarded though...Kali reached from the shadows to grab the equally muddied creature and pull it close. In defense of her previous words, this time she had taken it. Even if Akai left it on purpose it was less so given to her and more so her taking it of free will.

Her stomach welcomed the meal, even if the taste of mud tainted it. As Akai finished his rambling lesson, he seemed to look her way though she could tell he wasn't looking at her. The feeling was almost unsettling like something lingered behind her, but realistically she knew the cave lacked the space for that. If the world is so dangerous and cruel then what does a moment of kindness get you? Wouldn't it be more beneficial to be at the top?
