Warlock, unlike the others, would have been willing to fight, but apparently the others who had spoken of boldness, of willingness to help were at their core just liars. Liars with no spine. But Warlock was also no fool. When they ran, it forced him to do the same. This was not how things were supposed to go -- those who were this treacherous weren't supposed to win. He'd make sure the others were safe, at least.
