Danica had been too far away to hear anything but Njal's cry. The mournful, desperate sound was enough to give her an idea. Icy fear rushed through her and she immediately took off towards the source, cursing to high heaven as she went that she was so far away.

She almost barreled into Tuwawi, she was so intent. Skidding to a halt next to the frantic mother, her ears flattened. She had heard her calls, so knew enough to piece together something of what had occurred. The scent of cat was heavy here. Unwilling to admit defeat so easily, she began circling, attempting to pick up a trail. Something , anything, that would allow her to help.
