Foxtail hated that - little fox. It seethed inside of him. But the trickster’s eyes gleamed with him. The stormy figure swayed slightly before he shook his sharp snout. 

Could never be, sir. Haven’t got deserter in me. I’m here hm? Looking for him for you, captain. Alizarin was their target. Foxtail did not want the Rat to shift his focus and become the target of his wrath. He might have been a dirty pirate, but he was no fool. Lark knew better. He had faced more fearsome brutes than the murky captain who eyed him. 

With the dismissal of the bay, Foxtail shrugged and shifted his frame to face the east. Best to appease the Rat before speaking again. The trickster did not want to appear forceful to the looming man who stood with him.
