Coconut Grove k' ak' nab k'ayom

A woman, yet not. 

A man, yet not.

A warrior, yes. Shield and guardian to those who have earned such a prize. 

Since the day Sabah realized her family were no more, regardless of whether they breathed or croaked in their graves, she had found a new path to walk. 

Holcan to Kuhul Ajaw, now she was called. Nothing had ever given her pride such as this; to hold this title and serve the one man who looked past her appearance and saw her for who she was and what she was capable of.

For a time they had traveled, but not as one. They had come to this new place on their own, soon to reconvene. The holcan were meant to walk ahead. And so Sabah did this.

But they would come together again sooner than expected.

Ajaw. She saw him ahead, paws grazing the beach. Sabah greets Kuhul Ajaw. One of few words, speaking only what was necessary so no breath designed for battle would go to waste. 

There was eagerness in this woman's eyes. Relief as well. For now that they were reunited, no longer should she worry.
