After wandering the coastline, he'd found nothing of substance. Little bands here and there, and family clans—but nowhere he'd call home. Not an easy home, anyway.

And, he supposed, sniffing around this place with smells of husband and expecting wife, that this would be any different. 

But there were other wolves here. And it was a small enough group that he felt he could lend a paw.

He howled for leadership, cocking his head back to send his song into the air. It was warming, despite the odd bout of freezing rain. Perhaps they had children here. 

He was keen to help, any way.
