Reverting her gaze to the male with a tilt of her head, she added: "We chased ghosts." She wouldn't be shocked if Taltos showed any sign of amusement, or any other related emotion; it had indeed been an unusual find in her visit South.
Falwasi mused about what Lasher's thoughts had been occupied by before their interaction. He looked just like she did weeks ago by Duck Lake before Scimitar arrived, though her expression had only been one of nostalgia. Unwilling to perturb him, she asked, "Do you like to explore?" The mottled wolf awaited his response, peace beginning to encroach on her.
