@Andromache and @Silvertongue if u guys want <3
Their visitor was a silent ghost of a creature.
Euryalos, who understood the value silence held, knew this was not a valuable silence. But he said nothing. He respected that silent barrier with the cordial nature of a soldier at a border. By simply ignoring its existence but never crossing it or drawing attention to it.
He came tonight with one of the young pronghorns slung across his shoulders, staining white fur red. The herd had been ready to move soon. Taking the pronghorn would encourage that, but he needed one. Perhaps if they were still there, he and Nikolaos could round a couple into the valley, kept like livestock there until slaughter. Like the waggle tail little creatures his master used to keep.
He wrenched the back legs from the creature with two brutal twists, and yanked the still hot liver from its stomach cavity. Carrying these, he made for the den Andromache stood sentinel to, blood staining his maw, the legs holding the liver in place.
When he saw the princess, he grunted to get her attention, casting one leg across the ground to her.
Eat.Working herself to death would make Nikolaos sad, and Euryalos would never forgive himself. He sat the liver and the leg in the mouth of the den, a silent invitation, easily dismissed, or taken into the shadows of the little ghost wished for peace and quiet.
Euryalos would not blame her.
