Fortunately, Maplesmoke was quick to act and defensive of the band, no matter how few they were. As he thundered toward the stranger, Fancy motioned for the other mares to push back, hoping to give the studs plenty of room to duke it out if it came to blows. She kept one dark eye toward them, equally as interested in the process as the outcome.
