Emberwood Total Eclipse

Once again, she'd felt the sting of banishment. This time, sweeter than the last.
Still, it was another reminder that she didn't belong anywhere.

The leaves here were painted the hue of sunset, a menagerie of oranges and reds settled neatly at her paws; pillars of obsidian which disturbed the fallen foliage as she paced on. Her steps were carefully silent, a shadow adrift in the forest.

She wasn't even sure what she was looking for. That hollow feeling had resurfaced. She thought she was over this... futile longing. It was pathetic, a desecration of her spirit; a snarl broke the edges of her maw, accompanied by the dejected fading of features.

She'd reign herself in with a deep breath and sit back onto her haunches. No comrade to groom the burrs from her coat, she'd do it herself. 

This was what she wanted. So why was she so lonely?
