All Welcome
the rains had come and gone, washing away snow and revitalizing the bay's lush forest.

smoke no longer fled her lungs with every breath.

the dreams, however, lingered.

iaghe was not sure they'd ever truly fade. not as more memories surged to the surface.

they were not all filled with flame or graced by the nameless woman.

some were mere snippets of a past life.

courts. babes wrestling in the sand beneath her watch. tidepools. gulls crying. dancing and song.

one such dream pushed her from the den they all shared beneath the bruised clouds of sunrise. fog clung to the trees, billowing about her steps as she wandered the forest -- feeling no more awake than she had when she'd started out.

it was the wet squelch of something small moving through the undergrowth that finally snapped the spectre out of it.

following the noise, the starkissed femme brushed aside a small fern -- sending several newts scurrying along their chosen paths.

they did not flee, not entirely, but instead scuttled onwards seemingly in a panic. as if frightened by the wraith's appearance but hellbent on some task that was unclear to iaghe.

cooking her head, the firemarked woman followed slowly in an attempt not to further startle the amphibians.

as she trailed them, more appeared.

a faint smile graced her lips, fascination sparking in her pale eyes as she slipped through the mud alongside the tiny creatures -- intent on seeing where it was they were going.
