After his reunion with Scimitar Luka had been left with a feeling of happiness. He was curious about the other wolves in his pack. Their scents filled his nose but he had yet to see any of them. He figured staying on the interior of the forest would bring him closer to some of them. While wandering around the darkened forest he noted some of the plants that grew in the small patches of light that filled the darkened void. Most of them were dead or in hibernation because of the cold. He bent down and sniffed most of the plants that he found on his way. Some were familiar others were not.  He noticed an outburst in the plant Lily of the Valley.

Luka's face contorted as he came to the realization that he would have to travel outside of his own territory to find any plants that could help with his medicinal talents. Many useful plants would not grow under the evergreens. He scolded himself for even trying to look for medicinal herbs and plants while near evergreens. His mother taught him from the time he was a pup the places to look for plants and a darkened evergreen void was not one of those places. Luka sighed and walked onward to the outskirts of their territory hoping to find some patch of light to guide him.
