It had been a few days since Sialuk had brought him to her village now, and Hakumele had found himself bedridden and in-and-out of consciousness for some time. He supposed that he had been lucky to have been found by the raindrop. Someone looking down on the world must have felt mercy for him.
His legs feeling stronger than most days, the shark pushed himself to his paws and exited the ulaq. He was eager to get a breath of the fresh air despite the snow.
He was beginning to feel better, he knew that for certain, and yet his limp persisted and his weight was returning far too slowly for his taste. Never had he felt so weak; it was demeaning.
