Synder followed, tried to keep up, her features tempered against the idle ache that set off the nerves in her leg, not quite so icy, nor sharp as it felt on the worst of days. She'd had enough of a rest for it to calm and return to the ever-present tingle that usually haunted it.

She put up no argument, eager to eat something aside from fish or carrion. Bronze haunches lowered to the snow while she watched him stake off with purpose in his stride.

Would that she could do such a thing. It shouldn't have made her bitter and yet time and time again, it always did.
