Cole stood tall and steady, his presence unwavering as Ameline spoke. His amber eyes flicked between her and Nephele with quiet attentiveness, taking in every word, every nuance of the exchange.
When Ameline finished, granting Nephele and her daughters refuge in Bearclaw Valley, Cole inclined his head, a deliberate and respectful motion. There was no need for words; his actions spoke louder. He was grateful for the Regina’s compassion, her understanding, and her trust in him to guide these new arrivals.
His gaze briefly returned to Nephele and her daughters, a silent promise lingering in the warmth of his eyes: they would be safe here, and he would see to it. Without hesitation, he shifted, motioning for them to follow as he prepared to lead them deeper into the Valley.
