luhtar’s chest rose and fell heavily, the warmth of his breath mingling with hers in the icy air. her grin, sharp and daring, was matched by the wild gleam in his eyes.

a rumble of amusement rolled from his throat, but his gaze softened, catching the glint of mischief and intent in hers. the offer was clear.

he leaned down, his muzzle brushing briefly against the curve of her throat. aye, bear-woman. a teasing, low growl and then a nip upon the fluff of her cheek. his breath warmed her fur as his tail gave a slow wag.

there was no need for more words.

the snow cradled them as the night stretched on, their wild hearts beating in tandem beneath the northern sky.
